Monitoring for live duo

JetfireJetfire Frets: 1583
Randomly, been offered a gig for next week and we both discussed the need for monitoring. Anyone got any suggestions for a monitoring system to be used with a Tanglewood T6 as the main FOH,?

if amp is foh and its acoustic n vocals  - then is monitoring entirely necessary ? More understandable if using backing tracks perhaps - depending on volume

if its to help vocals to pitch correctly and sound isolate from  overall volume - suggest line out to a headphone amp n run to cheap in ear style setup .. look at Behringer P1 P2 types .. ( presuming vocalist doesnt run wireless IEMS already)

otherwise borrow a powered wedge n run line out to that ? perhaps a local tFBer will have something you can loan - Im a little bit too far away otherwise you'd be most  welcome

How big is the room? It can't be particularly big if a T6 is your FOH amp. One/two guitars? One/two vocal mics? Backing tracks? Looper?

  • Can you put it slightly above and behind you?   I gigged a duo/trio with a Marshall AS100 for a good while and we monitored off it for small club/restaurant sized spaces.

That may be the way to go @Stratavarious , I've seen a few wedge monitors for sale but a small stage wouldn't allow for it and feedback may be a problem
