My girlfriend bought a ukulele during lockdown, feeling a bit left out when her son and myself were playing guitars all the time. I taught her to play Iggy Pop’s The Passenger, but obviously I kept picking it up and playing it myself as well. Anyway, she’s just surprised me with this for my birthday:

It’s a Laka, which I think is from the Vintage brand. Uncannily, it’s probably the spec I would have chosen myself - solid koa top, understated binding and a nice dark (pao ferro) fretboard. The action is a little high but I’ll sand down the bridge saddle when I feel the need for a fresh set of strings.
