Hi,

I'm looking to trade my '84 Roland JC120 for a Marshall valve head.
The head needs to be 50W or above - everything else isn't really an issue.
Not bothered about how many channels, if it has reverb etc... just needs to be loud :)

May consider other heads, guess it doesn't strictly have to be Marshall, but as long as the sound is similar.

Trade value around £400-450..?

The Roland doesn't come with a foot switch, but it does come with its original tatty amp cover.
It's also on casters which is handy.

I'm in Wigan, Lancs but would be happy to travel for the right deal.

The amp is in good condition. These things are bomb proof!

I'm sad now as it makes me miss my old JC120. Best amp I've ever had.

One of the guitarists for The Wailers at Glastonbury seemed to be playing through two of them. Loud bugger. Previous Discussions on here suggest that the design has changed over the years and this 84 one may well sound better than one fresh out the box. Nice. Good luck with the sale.

Yes they are extremely loud - so much clean head room!

One difference between this one and a newer model is that these older models don't have an FX Loop.
    Should have probably mentioned that.

I never use them, so was no issue to me.

They do seem to be very popular stage amps.
I've seen Matt Healy (The 1975) using a couple of these recently for live performances.

Yes, likewise. Selling mine was SUCH a stupid decision - probably nearly twenty years ago now, but I can still remember wheeling it into the shop, and my mate saying 'Dan, are you sure you want to do this...?'

    Lovely amp OP, glwts :)

There's Marshall Vintage Modern 50W head going on here for around £400, I have one myself and it sounds fantastic, covers a good history of Marshall tone. I'd be tempted to take this off your hands if you'd take the cash and if you'd be willing to come over Yorkshire way.

    Cheers,
    Shaun
