So i've been using a Mustang 1 for about 6 months now and it simply isnt doing it for me. The forever plugging it into the mac to dial in a tone... sounding awful at any volume other than 1... enough is enough. 

In short, after something which doesnt cost a fortune (sub £200) to use at home/studio space. Cleans are what I'm after, so taking pedals well is a must. 

lack of a 12" speaker seems to be the problem on the stuff i've looked at so far?

    The Blackstar HT5 clean channel was great when i had one, took a tubescreamer very well indeed. I don't have one for sale but worth a look as well as the Bugera above which ate also supposed to be very good

    Fender Champ 600 or a Laney Cub 12 combo. Either of those float your boat? If Hiwatt cleans are your thing I've got a Roost sr25 that does a grand impersonation.
