High Wycombe

What's Hot

I get the impression there are quite a few members in the High Wycombe area.

Would be good to know who you all are and maybe meet and jam together when Covid allows.

I moved to Beaconsfield, from London in November, having grown up in Penn.

I'm an improving intermediate and keen to play with others in the area!

I'm nearby, not so much keen on jamming as  trying nice gear and noodling :)

I'm also nearby. Chalfont St Peter.

Up for meeting up, jamming and/or noodling on nice gear.

I'm a fairly intermediate kind of player.

Me and my son have been to the last two waterrats jams in woking which are a lot of fun. Met some good guys. We would be up for something similar in and around HW.

When I am in the UK I am in Chalfont St. Peter or Hazlemere. Beaconsfield does open you up to a wider area because of being so close to the M40 junction.

I think @TheMarlin and @mattacjones are local too.

Not sure if anyone has experience, organising a jam?

West Star Studios. They moved to down on the London Road - think they're still open. There are better (and cheaper) studios available in the area, IMO.

True that! Pirate Studios are great and dirt cheap but the nearest is in Reading

I am indeed in the area. There has always been (apart from lockdowns) the fabulous Rupe's jam night. used to be in the Nag's head in Wycombe, but relocated a coupe of times. I'd recommend it as a friendly place to meet up & jam, great  house band, great gear too. Pre lockdown was Marlow, 1st Tues of the month. https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=rupe%27s%20blues%20jam

I'm just down the road in South Oxfordshire, but have no desire to mix with people from High Wycombe, especially with the big game tonight. Come on you yellows! :0)

I'm another who is fairly close (Wokingham-ish).

Bedroom player when I can get some time in but haven't played with others for many years (and it shows). Any experience would be great

  • The Takamine in my avatar was bought from Percy Priors in 1997. It was the first shop I used to go to as a teenager just to be in awe of all those guitars on the walls and the sheet music out the back.

There was some great stuff there.  I bought my first two guitars from there, a Charvel Model 4 and a Jackson Dinky Strat.  I used to spend many a Saturday in there.
