First off, LOVE the atmospheric intro.
Love the first hint of guitar that comes in. This is very powerful stuff.
Very Nuno-ish... with the reverb. Oh and it kicks into your style at 1min
NICE chord movement.
2min-ish reminds me of Mika Tyyska (who I forgot about until now - great player).
Love 4:15 bit. And the multiple-lead guitar parts after (that's exactly sort of thing I'm doing, too).
Inspired at 8:10 Ooooohhh and 8:30-9:10 I really really love that - that is right up my street (the general feel of it).
9:56-9:59 awesome. And 10:15 to end is very very cool...... Seriously good.
--> Why don't you do an album? This is my fave track of yours yet. I say do a bunch of 4 min tracks and put it together as an album, man!!
What do you use for drums? Are they pre-made beats or do you program the beats, one by one?
In fact can you remind me of your whole set-up, please?
I really enjoyed listening to that - it kept my interest and was musical and kick-ass. I forget if you're in a band.. playing is amazing! Best thing is also that you're writing your own stuff... that's what it's all about!

What's going on from about 6:19 to 7:05 (particularly from 6:35) ? Is that incorporating palm muted legato?

@thomasross20 - I'd love to do an album, but it takes me so long just to get one song done...I can't just sit and record either, I have to wait for an idea - if I push it then it never works! I should have a little collection I can stick together as an 'album' of sorts before too long though I guess! The drums are all EZDrummer with various expansion packs, so all pre-set loops. I used to program hit by hit when I recorded on PC, but no longer. Sometimes I edit them though. And the ones at the start with the big echo I programmed, along with the piano, but it takes ages to do a proper pattern using piano roll in Logic! Aside from that it's just an Axe-FX straight into Logic. Yes, in 2 bands but doing my own stuff keeps me sane Somewhat literally at times in the last couple of years! And I'm awful at videos

It's hammered-on chord shapes with a hammered-on sweep at the end, all palm-muted apart from most of the sweep (the first bit of that is though and it starts hammered on from an open string). That probably makes no sense but I can tab it out which would make it clearer. It's easier than it sounds and gives a nice illusion of speed! 6:35 is indeed muted legato with the odd picked note.
EZDrummer.... is it easy to use (clue might be in the name...)? I still use jamstix but I want something that is SUPER easy and fast to use.
AxeFX into Logic via some interface? See I still use a Toneport UX2 but I think there has to be something better for me than that now.... I really need to upgrade my setup.
No worries re videos. Though it would be awesome

EZDrummer is SO easy. Drag and drop loops, that's it. You can edit the midi patterns if you want though. I've got a few expansion packs which basically means heavier/larger kits and a wider choice of loops. I quite often write to drums to - as in use the pattern to give me a riff idea etc - and it's great for that. Before that I had a kit I'd sampled and imported in Fruity Loops and programmed every single hit. I got quite good at it but it took ages!! I don't know how good you are with DAWs (are you on Logic too?) but Logic has a very decent drum programme of its own. I've never used it - got a mate (who's 20 years younger and done music tech at uni!) who popped over and showed me...it's good. He did it all in a few keystrokes and shortcuts though, which I've now forgotten
I just have a Zoom TAC-2 Thunderbolt interface...AxeFX goes into that and then into my Mac. It's very basic but as it's only me using it, it doesn't need to be anything fancy. I'm still learning tbh - that song used about 140 tracks which was incredibly inefficient!! (some with only one lick or fill on!)
Only thing I'll say about jamstix is that it has an algorithm that creates new loops on the fly - always something different.. I'm wary using pre-set loops when doing an album - jamstix will always produce something new, which is cool. But EZ drummer sounds so good...
I use Tracktion - it is a SUPER SIMPLE DAW. I love it.
140 tracks wow!!
