    Eventually settled on Curt Mangan PB 13's. Superb strings, the guitar rings like a grand piano.

    The HD28 is way louder than the D. Sounds like D28 through an amp

    You can get rear shifted scalloped by ordering a D28 1941 authentic 

    open to corrections here

    Bloody mine field 
    Both the D-28 and HD-28 now have forward-shifted bracing. The HD-28VS is no longer in production.
