I will update the wording for clarity.
Thanks
Are the rod magnet polepieces on the bridge pickup for the D and G strings slightly raised above the bobbin plate or are all six the same length?
As I remember the fault (it was a couple of years ago) I fitted the pickup and it worked for a few hours and then the sound became very thin. I took it out and put it back in (after checking with another pickup) and pretty much the same thing happened. So I suspect an intermittent short circuit somewhere in the coil. I will try and DC meter it soon and check the polepieces.
To reiterate and clarify, the neck pickup is working fine, it's just the bridge is faulty.
All the best
John
