FS: 1967 Fender Telecaster scratchplate (black), cut for bridge humbucker

What's Hot
The original owner of my '67 Tele had the scratchplate cut for a bridge humbucker.  Someone later reverted the guitar to its original pick-up co-ordinates, with a new pickguard, so I have this 1967 black scratchplate going spare.

A guy was this week on the point of giving me £70 for it, but then realized it was black (he had assumed it was white), so backed out.

So ... I'm open to offers if it is of interest to anyone.

I don't have a camera or smartphone, but if photos are needed I'm sure I could ask one of my young friends with their flashy technology to furnish a few.

Cheers!

Clive
Oxfordshire.

    Erm, two points.

Firstly, 1967 Fender scratchplates were either three-ply white/black/white plastic or four-ply faux tortoiseshell over W/B/W.

Secondly, the bridge position pickup on a Telecaster was never mounted via the scratchplate until the launch of the Telecaster Deluxe in 1973.

Photographs of your item will explain many things.
    Be seeing you.

  • Thank you all for your comments.  I will try to get some photos taken for your perusal.

By the way, is there a tutorial somewhere for how to put photos onto tFB?

    Cheers!

    Clive.

best to use imgur, copy the url from the "direct link" box (should end in something like ".jpg" or ".png") then paste that into the "attach image" box on this site (looks like a dogeared piece of paper)

I’ll take it for £10 delivered unseen. No need for photos in that case :)

  • Thank you bbill, and I'll try to do that when I've got some decent pictures.

And thank you, SC, but I do believe it is authentic (not that I know anything about these things), so I'll hold out for a better offer.

    Goodnight.

  • Hi, Fishboy7,

I'm in Charlbury, and available pretty much all day, every day.  You'd be very welcome to come and have a look.

Otherwise, I will try to get a photo done by a mate later this week.

    Cheers!

    Clive.
