I've got the itch pretty bad now...
looks like I'll be upgrading BFD2 to BFD3 within the next few weeks..
Base theme by DesignModo & ported to Powered by Vanilla by Chris Ireland, modified by the "theFB" team.

good call....
get all the Fretboard community up on BFD3..
we all love it and sing it's praises...
more people by BFD3 cos they listen to us because we are such a highly respect source of wisdom
A couple other communities I frequent do this from time to time and the deals are very keen indeed, just need someone with brass cojones to ask.
BFD3 is very good though.
Been asking at the office about group-buys and it seems we can't really do it I'm afraid. Sorry!
looks like I'm going to have to get to know BFD3 sooner than I thought..
I have two main music projects on the go right now.. one is recording the next DC Band album.. the other is working with a movie trailer consortium..
I've just been asked to add some choirs, orchestral brass and some rockin'-an'rollin' [kinda metal style] to a trailer..
so here goes.. my BFD3 maiden voyage starts tomorrow...
my roll with this trailer crew is mainly the orchestral, choral, guitars and drum kit parts.. so for the drums before I was using BFD2.. but now I have a nice new toy..
for my "trailer drums / percussion" I'm using Native Instruments Action Strikes. trailer drums are a whole different world.. and a completely different ethos to BFD.. it's more about being 'huge' than authentic.. thing is... most trailer writers have instruments like Strikes. so in addition to conventional rock drum parts, I reckon it'd be cool to on blend BFD3 with Strikes [the fat Ludwig floor toms].. that'll mean I can bring something a little different whilst remaining within trailer context..
seriously.. I had no idea trailer music was soooo fkn difficult to create..
@Drew_fx is it possible to import a BFD2 MIDI map into BFD3
because my BFD2 hit is huge and I had to add quite a lot to the basic map.. so I'm wondering if I have to set that all up again from scratch, or can I save loads of time and import??
Keymap window. File menu. Choose "Import Key Maps". Navigate to the folder where the keymap file is stored. Import.
(if you didn't save your BFD2 keymap out as a file, then do that first)
awesome.... I have several maps saved..
I'll try this later.. it'll be a major 'pain in the ass' saver..
can I do the same with the mixer too? cos I have individual outputs all built for logic [in Logic I have 16 channel strips for BFD]
I clearly need to play around with all this..
BFD3 does seem a bit different to BFD2, so it'll take a little time for me to get familiar with..
in my spare time [between recording stuff for the DCB and the trailers] I'm going to build a nice new drum kit from scratch.. a nice propper prog rock big boy kit with a million toms..
there was one tone I never quite managed to get from BFD2 [prob cos I never have the right toms] that I adore.. it's the really high / small toms Neil Peart uses on tracks like Tom Sawyer and YYZ.. I'm guessing that they're 8" or maybe even smaller..?? I got close in BFD2 with the small Tamburo toms pitched up a bit..
my BFD2 kit has 8 toms [I used the 2nd kick slot to mount the highest tom]
two small Tamuburo's, then the next 4 are the DW hi and lo mid's, then the Ludwig small and large floor toms.. the tuning takes a bit of getting right.. and cos I split them out in Logic I can EQ them so that they have a similar enough voicing that they don't sound too different..
