FS- PARTING OUT The Jeleguar One Off Tele/Jaguar Hybrid
I've decided to let go of this one off instrument, as I could use the funds and honestly, its not getting played... so what is it?
About six years ago, I commissioned John Manuel to create an offset 'Jazzcaster' but to have the Jazzmaster tremolo, and the Jaguar top horn switch panel. It was to have Telecaster pickups, with a Bigsby bridge plate and Jazzmaster style bridge. It was cut from Alder and painted in Olympic White Nitro.
Since then its worn a couple of different necks during its time with me and Jef (@stonevibe). Its now running a simply stunning GSP Basses neck, in flamed maple with a nice dark rosewood board with a reasonably flat radius (I think its a 12in). This is chunky C going on D, but not a baseball bat and features 21 frets (medium). Its had a dust coat of Nitro which seals it but gives it a lovely satin feel. Oh, its a normal Fender scale length.
The pickups are Mojo Broadcaster units and are linked to a US Fender three way switch, 250k CTS pots and a 'Electro' socket. The controls on the top horn are disconnected right now but should that be a deal breaker, I will rewire them back in for you. Again, these are US quality parts.
The bridge is a Mastery M1 - IMHO, the best available. No further words needed.
The tremolo is a US Fender AVRI unit and is fitted with the Staytrem arm and collet.
It comes with a generic and scruffy hard case purely for shipping purposes... and no, I haven't got a clue what the extra bits of blue foam stuck inside the case are for. :-)
Bottom line, I'm asking £900 for it delivered to a UK mainland address (not Highlands or Islands). Yes, its a lot but this is up there with Fender CS guitars, its made from the best quality parts available and its a stonking instrument. Yes, I'll listen to sensible offers and I would consider part exchanges etc. I'm based near Kettering, Northants (juct 10 A14)
