Oh!
I wonder - can a DE-humidifier be controlled by a humidity detector.
These 5% accurate detectors are rubbish. There must be a decent 1% detector. I read this is meant to be ok:

they can, I have a hygrostat
works either way (switchable for humidifier or de-humidifier)

see if you can find one online somewhere, it's like a plugin adaptor with a plug socket on the front

Expensive!
I just rely on a few cheaper ones and a weather station Oregon scientific one
