Best twelve string for under £1000?

What's Hot

Hi - I wondered if anyone had any opinions about the above.

I would be interested in either new or used. I've heard Guild are good in that they specialise in 12 strings. I really want a Taylor 3 series but they cost about £1900 new.

Mostly for composition and/ or recording, I like the variety  that a 12 string offers v a 6 string. I also want to be able to learn to play 'Mrs Robinson' on it.

I’ve played a few recently - as mentioned in my 12 string thread.

The conclusion I’ve come to, is a Taylor 150e probably makes the most sense. New they’re £750-£800 - if I could find a decent used one, I think I’d go for it.

if yer gona fingerpick - make sure the string spacing is wide enough as most 12ers are designed for plectrum plying.

I have one of these, which I've fitted with a K&K Mini (yes, it works fine) available for £400 if you're interested, along with a couple of sets of spare Martin strings. They're £1000 new. I really like the sound of it, but I just don't play it. At the moment it's more of a dust magnet than a guitar.

Woah. Yes, sorry - I didn't read the advert text. Even Coda have called it a "nasty split"
