UNPLANNED DOWNTIME: 12th Oct 23:45
Hi All.... I am hoping that the concerted knowledge of all here can help
me out with identifying my latest love. I have tried to stick to within
the forums rules on image size etc so I hope the guitar is seen
properly..... if not this is a link to the shared folder in Dropbox
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/kktgxa8bz...3ze27rf_a?dl=0 (mind you loads of people say my dropbox linkls dont work at all!)...but see my flickr links below.
It has what appears to be a stylised TR in MOP inlaid into the headstock
with no other indication of maker. It has beautiful solid back and
sides which I have been told is Rosewood but they seem to glow and
shimmer more than any rosewood I have ever seen. The Top looks like
solid spruce and it has what looks to be an Ebony fretboard inlaid with
nice Snowflake markers and the body, neck and headstock are all bound
with beautiful flamed maple which also serves as a truss-rod cover.
I think that it is a beautiful looking guitar and even with dead strings on it it sounded full and resonant.
I am now in the process of cleaning and lightly refurbishing and
hydrating it, and while this process goes on I hope you will all jump in
with your thoughts and guidance.
All in all the guitar has cost me virtually nothing and at this moment i
have no interest in selling or even knowing how much its worth.... its
beautiful and it needs tlc..... and i am a sucker for such things. But
even so someone has poured a lot of love into creating this instrument,
even the interior is very neat and tidy.... and I respect and appreciate
that level of commitment ( I wish I could do it) and I think knowing
more of its story would help me understand and appreciate it more.
Please feel free to pitch in.
