And so many of us are very very glad you did, too. :)

Excellent - apart from the bit where he talks about fingering Lix :-O

What a character. I've always wondered how he has any skin on his right hand at all. Even using the nails, it must have took some time to perfect that technique.
And they said that in our time, all that's good will fall from grace, even Saints would turn their face, in our time.

Wilko says, his technique was developed from that of Mick Green ... this example of Mick's playing is from 1977 ... but he'd played in that style since the sixties. Wilko spent a fair bit of time with Mick and even co wrote 'Going Back Home with him. As an aside, Mick also wrote You Don't Own Me for Quo with Alan Lancaster. Together he and Wilko form a little branch of technique and style that are uniquely British ... and I hope won't be forgotten.

I had the privilege to meet Mick (sadly, have never met Wilko) and a more lovely, helpful and genuine bloke you couldn't hope to find. He bubbled over with enthusiasm for his way of playing ... as Wilko does ... and taught guitar in schools locally to amazed kids. When they are both gone there will be a massive hole in rock and roll ... for me at least. Both legends.

  • Don't think I've ever seen Gilmour move about on stage as much as he did in that clip! Have a real soft spot for those 70s Telecaster Customs. The first electric I ever had was a CSL copy of one.

    Great clip. Thanks for posting.

been reading his auto biography and I can't say he comes across as a sympathetic character. So only if you don't mind your mate's being house trashing psychos.

Well, I suspect he mellowed. The older Wilko might be a better mate than his younger self. Very creative, intelligent, interesting man but probably a bit too hard work as a mate.
