    No, no comparison..gonna be moving house soon and needs must, so gear buying for a while is gonna be slow..

    This is superb setup and will be sorry to see it go..

    I have played this amp of Darrens on numerous occasions and it is a truly Awesome sounding droolworthy piece of kit .. it covers a lot of ground tonally from lower gain settings right through to higher gain hot rodded marshall tones and also more modern tones depending on the speakers used

    I think the the splawn is right up at the top of the heap and will stand up to anything out there such as friedman Cameron etc and for my money it totally outshines the Cameron production amps like the CCV and it is also much more versatile and a MUCH bigger bang for your buck

    I have owned a shitload of modded marshalls and I have only kept two REALLY exceptional ones which I still own today and the splawn is EVERY bit as good as both of those if not better straight out of the box and the splawn can tonally mimic both my modded marsalls.

    The splawn also sounded superb with every guitar I tried it with including a totally stock strat with single coils ,5 different charvels and a vintage Gibson LP custom and the splawn loves pedals in front of it which is great for added versatility  

    all in all a Killer amp....

    Hi Rob

    Yeah carriage would be possible as i have the original boxes..

    When the mode switch on the amp is set to Gear 1 the footswitch will change between gear 1 and gear 2..When the mode switch is set to gear 3 the footswitch will change between gear 2 and gear 3.

    Each gear/mode also has an overdrive 1 and 2 option which is also footswitchable..Sounds a little complicated but it really isn't..
