What's Hot

I played a cheap nylon strung classical guitar while on holiday, the bug has bitten. But I've no clue where to start.

Budget around £500 is that releastic?

Roundabout that figure, you should look for something used.

Just so happens I have something...will drop you a PM ;)

u sure it's a 'classical' u want ?  reason being if u'r coming from 'acoustic' 'flat toped' 'steel strung' or even 'western' guitar u may find the neck a tad 'ungainly' / awkward, they tend to be U shaped profile.
There are good nylon strung alternatives to trad classical design.

Buy second hand , the Classical guitar market is "soft" at the moment ( buyers market ) so with some scouting around I'm sure you could find a £800 - £1000 guitar for your money .
Just like buying an electric guitar ,play as many as you can get your hands on , the tone and projection of each guitar varies hugely .
Trouble is , short of going to a specialist Classical guitar shop , most guitar dealers carry a pretty sparse amount of Classicals , from only one or two factories .

I see you are based in London and I myself would recommend going to London Guitar Studio which is near Bond Street, and they are a shop that only sells nylon string guitars and play a few to see what kind of guitar suits you.

Check out Cordoba. They make quality classical guitars and crossovers with more 'steel string' dimensions for very good prices. Over here in the US, they're typically less than $1,000. In the UK, I'd imagine they'd be in the 500-800 pound bracket.

I'd go for an used Amalio Burguet personally. 2-3k guitars going for £500ish used.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Have a look at Kent Classical Guitars.

They have a lot of choice, and sound clips for most, so you can actually hear the guitar. If you are based in London it might be worth a visit.

A lot of their stock is quite high end but they also have a lot of budget models from some makers that aren't stocked anywhere else.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
