Advice please on used classicals up to £3k

I'm looking to replace my classical, and don't know much about the brands and models
My guiding principles are:

Buy used
Buy a known brand that holds their used resale value
Buy something good

For acoustics I like Avalon, Goodall, Lowden, Bourgeois - complex long lasting overtones
I prefer a lower action, would be happy with a radiused fingerboard, but not essential

You may be better asking on one the more established classical guitar forums. This website is full of useful info and a visit to the shop may be worth your while.

You can buy a hand made classical guitar, built to your exact specifications from a good luthier for £3k. The top luthiers charge considerably more. You might have to wait a few months for it to be built though.

If you want to buy second-hand and want it to hold it's resale value then you'll need to buy a well known brand like Ramirez, Bernabe, Burguet etc. You might have difficulty finding one with a low action although that can be adjusted later.

I would go to a specialist dealer/shop that has a good selection of used guitars and try some out. Kent Guitar Classics and the London Guitar Studio are two good ones.

I assume a classical guitar that I want will now magically appear in the classifieds or on ebay

Congrats. Heard good things about them. Used by many conservatoire students and even some pros.

Maybe. You should have a look at the awesome Takamine in the classifieds. Loads of beer money left over too. ;-)

I don't think you will loose much money on a Bernabe ( not estudio model ) a good second hand Ramerez A1 or Manuel Contreras .
English builders like Kevin Aram are very desirable as well .
Obviously try to play as many as you can , but Bernabe's seem to have a strong re-sale value , hence their rarity on the second hand market

I will look at those too in the longer term
