.... other than sunburst.

I like not sunburst, I plan to refinish. Colour not yet decided.

Opinions?

  • Blue. No idea which of the many shades, but blue basses look cool.

    Or black.

I dunno about when knackered, but I think they look good in white when they're not knackered. :))

As above... black or white (tortoise guard) or Lake Placid Blue (off-white guard).

I really don't - I always think they look like a bad refinish. Even though I know that Fender actually did some of them at the factory...

I feel the same way. It was a shitty way of finishing them - if you like a thin finish, you know that one is twice as thick! :p

Seriously though, I'm not a fan. Floats some people's boats, though.

    Always the right answer :).

I'm still not sure how I came to only have one black instrument any more. I suspect this may have to be addressed.

What about a Plain Wood Finish a'la John Deacon?

    Scroll to bottom of page.

    Racism, probably.

I actually have the opposite problem. I'm not too fussed on black (it's alright, just it always strikes me as the "safe" choice) and yet most of my guitars seem to be black. :)) There are a few which look great in black but by and large if I have the choice of a colour I prefer that.

  • Au naturelle, torty pickguard. Plain wood. Nice rich stain. Mmm, lovely.

That is nice, yes. It's funny, but a plain wood finish is something that doesn't appeal to me on a regular Electric Guitar, but on a Bass, it really works for me.

I quite like it on a Strat or a Tele, too, but especially a Strat.
