First electroacoustic advice

So I've played electric and acoustic my whole life - but never even thought of an electroacoustic. Well that's changed now due to musical commitments, so I need to get one.

I have absolutely no idea what is considered good or what to look out for. I've looked at guides on the web but they're the usual 'these are great - oh look we've got them for sale, here you go'

Grateful if anyone has any advice. Looking to spend £500-£1000 either new or used.

Why not harmlessly electrify an acoustic you like?

If money were no object... I'd buy this rather nice John Lennon guitar for £1, 559.00 I played at Hanks Guitars...
Then I'd just electrify one of my acoustics (as I've bought 3 this week) with a Seymour Duncan for acoustic clip on.
