Any Animoog Users?

I've been playing around with Animoog on my iPhone for a while now. My knowledge of and experience with synths has been zero up until now but it's really piqued my interest and has taught me a lot how synths operate.

I'm not really understanding the graphical portion of the screen though. I can set the X and Y axis and define rate etc. but how does this translate into being a creative tool? I feel that I'm missing some key feature that would open the app up even more.

I've downloaded the manual which says that I should be able to alter the sound by dragging the centre point of the sound around and also edit the path but I'm a bit confused by it.

Can anyone enlighten me?
