New purchase- a gold badge DW Collectors Edge 14"x6.5".

This thing is very loud and weighs and absolute tonne.
It is something special- there is a 10 ply maple shell surrounded by 3/8" breast edges.
It has an amazing crack to it but still sounds ostensibly like a wood snare.
Really unique.

Nice... I'd love to own a real kit but the volume prevents it. How do you prevent disturbing the neighbours?

Seriously though- I have two kits set up at home.
An acoustic kit and a kit with mesh pads and low volume cymbals.
I used to have an acoustic kit and a V Drums kit but I got rid of the V Drums because, frankly, they suck.
I do 90% of my playing on the mesh pads/low volume cymbals.

Plus I live in the countryside and we have a lot of space.
People have commented that they hear me but I don't do it at silly hours and I don't take the piss so it is all good.
