I think it's fair to say I put a hell of a lot of effort into making it, so thanks for the kind comments.
Hmmm.....difficult to say about the Hurricane gain, but it's not as much as the Hellcat which I had before, and I've never tried an RK100, so I can't comment there. I'd say it's enough for most rock, but it's not a 'metal' amp, I reckon you'd need a distortion pedal for that. Maybe check out Youtube?
I bought mine partly on the strength of this sound. It's a keeper. For the life of me I can't understand why Chilli wants to move it on. It's one of those "I used to have a Hurricane, but I sold it. Wish I hadn't" things, I think.
Smoother than the Hellcat, keeps up well against a polite band (not tried in a heavier context or against a 100 watt stack, but it surprised the hell out a Vox owner who wouldn't let me soundcheck until I cranked it and scared the shirt off him).
I never get tired of the sound, and it's played everything from Shadows to Gary Moore, AC/DC and Specials. Amazing.
If I ever sell it, I promise to come to you first.
Keep meaning to get to one of your gigs, but you know how it is. Let me know when you're next up and I'll make an effort to get along.
Cheers.
p.s. Another demo here:
