I was working my way through Blood on The Tracks at the weekend in open D and wondered what other classic songs are written/played in this key.

@Deijavoo - I think it's DADF"BE, but not sure if he uses the top 2 strings - Anyway I've just run through it and it seems okay in DADF"AD.

@brucegill - I've honestly never heard of Chris Smithers.

@Lewy - I'll have a go at that Blind Blake tune but his syncopation kills me.

The whole concert just blows me away to be honest but this is one of my favourites. John and Robbie complement each other so well.

Almost anything in D with only three chords!

Best tuning for bottleneck stuff.

I even used it for this old Hank Williams coutry song :

Nicely done.

I must admit I'm pretty useless with a slide so I tend to avoid playing anything that requires one.

That's great @sillymoustache! I've just picked up a resonator and love the Open D sound. What's the second chord (after the D) you are playing?

Ummmm. it's a 3 chord thing in D - so D, G and A,but perhaps you are referring to the D7 - with 2nd and 5th strings fretted at 4th on 3rd fret?
