As the title suggests. I'm after either a Powerball (or similar Engl) or a 5150 II. Not really interested in the 6505+.

In West Sussex ideally.

Thanks.

The 5150 II is the 6505+?

No it isn't. They clearly have different names.

  • I thought 5150 = 6505 and 5150 II = 6505+?

My understanding was the names changed after the EVH connection ended, but the amps stayed as before?

You're correct.  I was being silly.

But I do prefer the look of the 5150 so would prefer it to the 6505.

    From http://www.wolfgangregistry.com/5150-info/peavey-6505-preview.html

"Wolfgang Guitar Registry (WGR):What are the differences between the Peavey 6505 and the Peavey 5150 amps?
Peavey (PV): The Peavey 6505 line of amps is EXACTLY the same as the Peavey 5150 amps other than cosmetic changes like the logo. The Peavey 5150 is a great amp that is loved by many and other than the name is completely a Peavey product. At this time it does not make sense to modify the amp in any way so other than the name and logo on the front there is absolutely no difference between a 6505 and a 5150."

Ok cool no worries. Might be worth calling PMT Manchester - I think they had a used Powerball in recently (was in about 2 weeks ago). They don't seem to keep their online used section up to date as there's always stuff in there I've not seen online.
