Can't quite believe I am going to sell this but my needs have changed.

You probably know about these amplifiers but just in case... The Lazy J 20H is a higher powered, more headroom version of the Lazy J 20 5E3 based tweed amp. Incredible tone has led to the amp being used by many of the legends of electric guitar and means there is a very healthy waiting list to obtain one! The backup provided by Jesse Hoff is another very attractive feature!

Mine is now four years old and I am selling it to get a more blackface/silverface amp as this will suit my needs better.

The amp is fitted with the extraordinary reverb module (mix and tone controls in the back of the amp, plus remote footswitch with mix control) and the absolutely essential VAC attenuator which allows you to get your tone at various sound levels.

The only trade I would consider is the Fender 68 Deluxe Reverb Reissue (silverface) which I will allow £650 for against my asking price of £1450. The amp is in the New Forest and I am very happy for anyone to come and try it. I am NOT enthusiastic about shipping the amp but ultimately something can probably be arranged. Much better to come and view, try and buy!

    Bloody hell! Bargain!

Having had both, I found the J20H was better for 'getting over' a loud drummer without getting too mushy and still retaining the clarity. Best of luck with the sale!

Bite the bullet @hotpickups, then you can rest easy in your search! ;-)

Have the 20 for your rhythm sound, the 20H for lead....now that would be something!

Wow, a serious bargain!! Love my J20... Almost parted with it once but backed out and I'm so glad I did!! It's become my number 1 amp.
Good luck with the sale... This will make somebody extremely happy with their tone!

    Cheeky request alert:
Do you fancy popping out to a gig on Saturday night at the Fawley British Legion? I'm playing Keef in a Stones tribute there - would be fab to try the J20 in a gig scenario. If it cuts the mustard I could Paypal you at half time :)
Some of the gear, some idea

Nice cheeky request! Sadly I will be gigging in Wickham. Alternative arrangement: come to the Thomas Tripp in Christchurch on Tuesday - I run a jam there and you could try it.... If it isn't sold already!

Funny enough to it was the Thomas Tripp that I heard my first lazy J20 in action. I then bought one lol

I plugged mine in last night for the first time in a month and had a blast with my '55 junior....Jesus H Christ.

I won't lie, after a couple of minutes, I fired up the Internet banking and checked some figures......computer says no. :-(

I've never been so tempted and close to pulling the trigger for something I don't really need at the moment before :)

I think you'll struggle, the J20H are FAR rarer than the standards, I'm afraid.

Yeah I know Neil which was my angst but couldn't live with the guilt of buying something of that value sitting around doing nothing until I have a use for it.

Fingers crossed one will come up again. If not other choice will probably be a Princeton built by a forumite here :)

@hotpickups And right on cue, here's another J20H just appeared! (And goes to show what an absolute bargain this amp was).

It is indeed an awesome place! I bought a '66 SG Jr off him earlier this year! Great dude to deal with and he has a cool set up there is even a tattoo studio downstairs!

Me too but unfortunately not enough watts for me. One of them being 'Watt' if I don't have enough money in the bank for it :)
