Landry LS100, handmade boutique amp made in USA, JCM 800 style, turretboard (easy to modify)
5000 polish zloty, about 900GBP.
Shipping is 25-45GBP depending on courier (DPD 25gbp, UPS 45gbp).
Usually when I hear modded Marshall I think more modern, high-gain cutting monster, in this case it is different.
Landry, at least compared to Marshall 6100, is like bigger/warmer/softer side of Marshall, at least that's what I hear.
It has some mids like Bogner Shiva - it's like thick but bright but yet not so cutting as Splawn or some angry Marshall, hard to describe...
When it gets louder its thicker than Marshall(mine gets thinner). Unfortunately can't say how it sounds cranked, because I didn't test it in the field. Bottom is tighter when not boosted, but it's not tight as metal amps. It likes boost, at least my Joyo Ultimate Drive (it's cheap but I recommend to try it as a booster). When it's boosted it reaches territory I like, though still is not "aggresive".
Though I had JCM800 Kerry King and I also though it was also not aggresive compared to 6100 (it was thicker but not so cutting). Probably tube difference or something is wrong with me.
It has three channels:
- cleanish - I say cleanish because it is clean only on low gain setting. If you need more volume/gain then it goes into some kind of drive. To be honest, I don't like it.
- gain (crunch) - this is more like jcm800
- high gain - smoother, more compressed, shared eq with "gain" channel
Also it has reverb.

My sound clip, are you ready for shitty playing? Here it is
I'm just crazy hobbyist who collects gear.
Pre-mod clip: (though camera setting is different which can change sound dramatically)
open youtube page, first part is Bogner Shiva (to be honest I like distortion from Landry better, but cleans of Shiva are really unique and nice sounding IMO)
So, I thought this will be some high gain head, I'm definitely after aggresive amps, and this is simply not. I've contacted Bill Landry and he told me how to do some tweaks, which I did.
This might be good for someone who knows electronics or have tech friend, as I think it's a nice base for modifications.
Customer service is top notch. Bill is just phenomenal guy. Superb patient, really cares about customers. I think I've exchanged almost 100 e-mails in whole process. I would say Peter Diezel level of Diezel amps.
For example, I've never got reply from Splawn (email or fb). Never.
Never got proper, straight answer from Marshall, same with Engl (though at least they were more helpful), etc, so this matters to me. Mesa/Peavey were good.
Mods I did:
Fixed(not switchable)
- added spring retainers for power tubes. It had GT EL34S tubes I think, sounded huge but not tight, they had thicker pins, so after placing JJs they were loose. Of course they worked but I didn't feel safe with that.
- replaced some caps and resistors pointed by Bill Landry to make FX loop superb transparent. It is now. Didn't change sound of the amp imo.
- replaced one wire to much thicker one from bridge to filter cap as advised, supposedly thicker can handle lows better
Switchable mods:
- feedback loop resistor mod - added knob near depth knob on amps back, now you can choose between stock feedback loop resistor or potentiometer. So it is either original or value set by pot. Maxed pot should be the same as stock, though I wanted to keep original "circuit" exactly as it was. Used alpha pot 24mm.
Original setting is brighter, more vintage, upper-mid focused.
If you set pot to low value, you get darker/more flat sound, tighter bass response, less volume.
Used Carling switch.
2) Cathode bypass caps
I've added 2 switches for: gain bypass cap and high gain bypass cap. They have 3 positions:
big boost/original/low boost. Basically in original position nothing is happening, in big/low boost switch just adds cap in parallel to stock one which makes amp bassier(bassy?). Used WIMA caps and normal switches (not Carling).
Switches are placed near preamp tubes.
Tubes I used (tested a lot of them, as I do in all my amps):
- JJE34L on power amp
- preamp is a mixture of jj / ehx / svetlana / jj / jj at7 / china
Visually it has some scratches on tolex, especially on top, so it looks average.
Somebody probably bent chassis on the back or something, near power cable. I think this head was in one of the best studios in Poland, Custom34.
230V version, footswitch included(2 buttons to change channels).

bought Splawn Competition from CHrisP86 on this forum
In wire transfer case I could accept PLN, GBP or EURO. Paypal - only PLN, so you have to do the exchange (paypal rates simply blow, now you know how Elon Musk got his money).
The price could be highly negotiable, it depends if I see something interesting at some moment.
My buddy will be probably going to UK in June so I think he might get this with him to UK if you need to get this personally.
The item is located in Wroclaw, Poland, of course can be tested.
Looking for:
- Diezel D-Moll, less likely: Herbert, VH4, Einstein 100W (I have 50W, wonder if 100W is more transparent/less compressed?)
- Engl Savage 120 (though probably will be too expensive in UK, they're cheap in Germany)
- Mako
- Splawn, mainly Quickrod. No old Nitro or Competition (I have them), though I might try new ones.
- maybe Baron, Titan, Rhodes
- Schecter Banshee, new Schecter Loomis with hipshot bridge (7string)
- Ceriatone Chupacabra\Yeti\King Kong (please share your experiences in priv message or sth, I wonder if they're good)
- maybe Ibanez AR looking like AR3000 or AR2000 (no tritone, tiger strips)
- no Peavey (already have), Mesa, Engl (other than Savage 120)
- hmm maybe Marshall Superbass or YJM
- some other known high gainer - I like aggresive heads like Engl Blackmoore, Splawns, Peavey 6534

Hi mate. Would you be interested to swap the Landry for Elmwood Modena 60, which I have for sale here in the forum? You can check some of my clips or check Youtube. If you like agressive amps the Elmwood will suit you great and it's very versatile with it's two channels, boost on both channels, two master volumes and good effects loop.
Kind regards
Nas

I've just got some creambacks 65 and still waiting for creamback 75, probably will record some new clips as I feel that it might sound nice with them.
I don't keep price updated to be honest, but now is the best time to buy it as euro is very expensive in my country right now, so it makes it cheaper, about 1020 euro / 750GBP
