Decent guitar, love the colour and the elliptical scratchplate. However, if I keep it, the crap text is definitely going.

Now comes the 'keep it original v get rid of the naff shite" quandary
According to the magazine review mentioned by Kittyfrisk, the Joe Doe guitar has a "stealth" neck position pickup concealed beneath the pickguard. Regrettably, this is a single coil of c. 7k compared against the 11k of a Seymour Duncan Brad Paisley Secret Agent model. The SDBPSA pickup also features a chunky ceramic bar magnet. Even then, the stealth SD yields less output than one might wish. A coverless 16k Telecaster pickup might do the job. An SHRT-1N might be the wise choice.
