Tony Iommi Epiphone SG

Tried one of these out during my lunch break. Nice, it seems to be the exact same guitar as the Epiphone Inspired by Gibson 61 Les Paul just with a different finish, bridge and pickups. The necks on both felt near identical.

The value of the Iommi is questionable. Full price it was EUR 200 more than the 61, but the 61 comes with Burstbuckers stock while the Iommi has Epiphone pickups. I know the price difference between the models varies depending on where you look. I also preferred the more satin finish on the 61 but that is a matter of personal choice.

I have the black one with the cross inlays and the hybrid alnico/ceramic pickups, and it's awesome; the first thing I played on it when I got it was the solo from the 'Live Evil' version of 'Neon Knights', and the tone is perfect - exactly what you'd expect from the Godfather Of Metal's signature guitar.

I really wish I'd bought one of those with the USA pickups back when they were just £400.
