Wtb: Fernandes sustainer

What's Hot
I’m after a Fernandes sustainer (with all the necessary guts to fit it!)
let me know if you have one

I have an FSK-101 stashed away somewhere. The version in which the Sustainer pickup resembles a humbucker (or a Lace Sensor Dually). I have the instruction sheet but no packaging.
    Be seeing you.

What about the switches and wiring etc?

The two switches are on the PCB. I need to check that all of the wiring is present and still full length.

    UPDATE
All of the FSK-401 wiring is present and correct but this could prove problematic.

all the necessary guts to fit it!
Tricky. Not all of the necessary parts are supplied in the kit.

The kit has to make itself adaptable to numerous possible host guitars. Hence, some of the control parts in the host guitar will have to be reconnected via the flying cables from the kit PCB.

e.g. If you are modifying a guitar with active pickups, re-use its 25k volume and tone pots.

If your guitar has the EMG Solderless interconnect cables, you would be best advised to use an EMG Buss Board to change between block connectors and soldered wiring. (I have spare ones.)

The kit does not include a selector switch. Fernandes has no way of knowing whether your guitar has a three-way toggle or a five-way lever or a Freeway 3X3-03. Hence, schematic diagrams for the most common circuits.
    Be seeing you.

  • If you get stuck for the wiring loom I have info on the blocks/plugs that Fernandes use as I've replaced/ repaired/ extended them in the past on FSK401's. I remember it's by JST (Japan Solderless Terminal) but I can't remember the pitch/ size off the top of my head. Anyway, it's also used by Radio Control modellers for LiPo balance cables, so you can get it in various lengths and numbers of conductors from RC model shop/ sites, though possibly not in the exact colours specified by Fernandes (just amend/annotate their diagram as appropriate). If you buy empty shell plugs (e.g. from CPC/ Farnell) you can use them with  the pre-crimped wires from a LiPo cable, since the individual wires can be extracted from the plugs with the aid of a pin or a jewellers screw driver (the crimped connector is barbed in order to stay in the shell if the plug). Hence, you can make up the cables you need if you can't purchase the exact one.
