Dowina Caramel Grand Auditorium.  One of only 19 made.  Dolomite spruce top, solid rosewood sides. Ebony bits and pieces.  Caramel burst which I love but am sure it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Sounds lovely even at day 1.  Feels wonderful.  The Dolomite top seems amazingly light / thin.

Well, consider it this way: with the images not showing, at least we don't have to look at a damn sunburst. :)

Seriously now, it sounds like a lovely guitar. Looking forward to seeing it when you get the pictures sorted. And happy birthday!

    Same here

Looks lovely, though. Dowinas are really good (well, mine is anyway, that's the only one I've tried!)

    Thanks @streethawk

@Soupman - yes I knew the burst won’t be everyone’s cup of tea , but as an almost always acoustic player, I get a bit bored with the conventional look of acoustic guitars so I think it just stood out of the crowd for me .
i was playing this morning and I really feels “alive” if you know what I mean - compared to many other god and cheaper guitars I’ve played, it’s as if when you pluck a string it wakes up and works with me to produce sound -  really difficult to describe

Seems to like delicate fingerpicking and qui5e hard strumming too

Yeah that's kind of how I'd describe mine, too (I've got a MusicStore exclusive grand auditorium, solid cedar top and solid khaya/african mahogany back/sides)

Looks great, quite unique, are Dowina linked with Furch?
I played a few Furch recently & was impressed, enjoy it!

@Ungulate - thanks .   They are not formally linked but I understand that they have informal links, I think the owners have collaborated (if not worked together) in the past and they are geographically close as well.

at the moment with costs and inflation going where they are going, the cost is exceptional value for what they are, especially if they are already in a Uk shop.

Yeah that's what I understand too, but I could be wrong- I think way back when, the main Dowina guy worked with Furch for a little while. I think they're separate now, though.

And yeah the prices are going kind of crazy- Furch increased quite a bit a couple of years ago, and it seems like Dowina are now, too (also just general inflationary and currency increases, too). I bought my Dowina about 5 months ago IIRC, and I just noticed the other day that the price had gone up over £150! That's on a guitar which was just over £600 when I bought it, so about 25%.

Not at all. That is a hallmark of a fine, responsive instrument. Every really nice guitar does that in some respect; some just as you describe, others have more natural compression and respond to vigorous input rather than gentle fingerpicking, but that "it works with you to make great sounds" thing is the difference between a great guitar and a merely competent one.

Clearly, you have done brilliantly with this one!

That’s not me :) that’s Ryan at WM Guitars in Ashburton in Devon.  Great guy to buy from, and a fabulous shop too
