GuitarGuitar pre-owned sale

What's Hot
I don't normally scan the guitar shop ads but happened on this one.
There seems to be a fair number of guitars at a good range of prices, for anyone in the market.
I don't know if the prices are good value, just thought one or two people might be interested
(I have no connection to the firm, by the way).  :)

I can't see anything about there being a sale on, but I have bought an L5 and an Eastman mandolin from their pre pwned section at pretty decent prices. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

So far I haven't had any issues with the pre-owned guitars I have bought from GuitarGuitar.  The photos are of the actual instrument and are of high enough resolution to zoom in and see most of the scratches or dents.  Viewing frets for wear and overall condition is never easy even with high res photos because of the reflection and shadows.  They rate the frets from 1 to 5 and the general condition from 1 to 5.  You will never see a used guitar on the GuitarGuitar website with a 5 for either or both.  I queried this with them a while ago and was told that rating anything as a 5 gives absolutely no margin for error as people would then be looking for a pristine instrument, so 4 is the highest rating you will get even if it is a 5 in reality.  I've only bought one used guitar from them that was rated 3 for fret condition, and in fact when I received it there was only the slightest amount of visible play wear and no distinct divots.  All others I have chosen were rated 4 for the frets and they either hadn't even been played enough to polish offthe scratchiness or had been played smooth but had no discernible wear.

I've had pre-owned guitars from them that still had the plastic film on the hardware and my guess is that they are either ex-demo or were "didn't like the colour/weight/feel" customer returns that were unplayed and I would have rated as 5 for frets and overall condition.  Obviously there is always the possibility that future pre-owned purchases may not be quite as satisfactory, especially given the occasional stories here of members having bought a new guitar that had flaws and returned it, then later seen it being sold by GuitarGuitar as pre-owned and presumably still with those flaws.

My HD-28 Re-imagined is probably amongst 'em.

Sorry, can't recall its serial number, but if you can handle a soft V with a 1.75" nut width, it's a beauty, loud as you like. Went to. GuitarGuitar Birmingham.

    :)
