just because you do, doesn't mean you should.
Theyre great picks and I love them for banjo AND guitar
you could, but I will ask @Mellish one question - are metal thumb/finger picks more desirable for banjy ?

Hope this helps

They drop it into boiling water, softening it to allow them to twist the tip so they can get a fuller hit, not just on the 5th (drone string but any except the 1st.
Thats bluegrass, of course, cos clawhammer is thumb stays home on the 5th string.
But I've started to ramble, so plastic thumbpick. Metal fingerpicks? You can, but the sound tends to be a bit raspy. Plastic there too for me
@MSedg just a tip for you. If you ever come over here to Oz, there are certain pubs where it would be unwise to ask that question.
MAJOR YAWN ALERT.....
The tone of a banjo is directly connected to the head (that circular skin thing).
However, it must be even tension all the way around or poor tone.
Simple? No, it isn't ; in fact, it's a dangerous sport. But if you have a bit of brave in you, a bit of daring, you can go ahead and try it
