It looks like something sized like the MXR Tap will just-about-kinda-fit on my board (those are 38mm wide - will give me a few mm overhang with is fine) 

so if anyone has one of those, or something of that size or smaller - hit me up.

    Lightning Wave tiny tap? New and unused. Tiny tap pedal that will need a headphone jack to 1/4” convertor. These were originally designed to be stuck on Boss delay pedals to provide a tap without drilling the casing, but they will work elsewhere and are really tiny. £25 PPG shipped in the UK.

    It sounds like I'd need to get an adapter cable made? Neat looking thing but I'll try and find something a bit more normal if I can - thanks.

    Can't help, I'm afraid - but for use with which pedal?  Most brands use a normally open switch, but Boss use normally closed.  It'll kinda work the 'wrong' way round - but it'll react to you taking your foot off the switch rather than tapping it.

    It's for a Dunlop Echoplex - apparently it's a normally open type
