What’s a Martin D18V worth?

What's Hot
I’m thinking of selling my Martin D18V and wondering if anyone has an idea how much these are worth? It’s a few years old, in great condition bar a few very small marks, and is fitted with a Fishman Blend pickup system and an added strap button on the heel, with OHSC. Any thoughts gratefully received. Many thanks.

So s/h I'd be ok with  50-60% of a new one. Always start higher than that - gives you the option to price drop yet still get a good deal

Thanks. You like to buy cheap obvs.  They haven’t actually made them for quite a few years so the new price reference doesn’t really work in this case unfortunately.

Thanks for that. Mine has the Fishman blend system fitted (which costs over £200 to buy without fitting) but otherwise yes it’s the same model.

On a good day, you might get a buyer who is willing to pay premium for the V neck ( I would if I was in the market right now) AND who values the pick-up.

But you’d likely need to hold out for that specific person.

If you prefer not to hold out and just want to move it along, my guess is you might get £2k, but high teens is more realistic.

Thanks. Yes I’d take £2k for it but not sure I’d want to drop below that. I’m in no rush to sell and don’t desperately need the money so will probably hang onto it if I can’t find a £2k buyer.

Have you put it in Classifieds? I think there was someone in there after a D-18 :)

It has a 1 11/16" nut width.  That will appeal to some buyers who prefer it to the 1 3/4" on the current D18s.

    I imagine you'll easily find a buyer at £2k.

That was me but I got bored of waiting for one to turn up. Martin market a bit speculative these days after the price rises. Decided I’d rather spend more on a classical.  :)
