Tone King Imperial 20th Anniversary - SOLD

What's Hot

edited August 2014 in Amps £

I am selling my Tone King Imperial 20th Anniversary combo.

The amount of use it gets, coupled with the money tied up in it just doesn't justify keeping it. I would rather it went to a good home where it gets hammered as it truly deserves to. Plus some changes in family circumstances require a bit of liquidity.

Condition is as new. There is not a mark on it.

It will come with a Hotcovers custom made padded cover.

Spec is as standard...

Tubes:  6V6GT (x2), 12AX7 (x4), 12AT7, 5AR4

Output power: 20W

Speaker: 1x12 Celestion G12M65 Creamback

Footswitch: Channel Switch and Tremolo

Reverb: Tube Driven Spring Reverb

Tremolo: Tube Driven

It also features a built in Ironman attenuator, and is hand wired.

I'm not sure of the exact weight, but it's really not too heavy. It's pretty portable and not over the top to pick up.

Some pics...

The tone is fantastic and is extremely responsive to playing dynamics.

I am based in Surrey (Walton on Thames). If anyone wants to try it, let me know and we can try and arrange something.

This sale is collection only, cash on collection - NO TRADES!

I am looking for £1400. No offers.

If anyone has any specific questions, let me know and I will try to help.

Cheers... Chris

According to the Tone King site they weigh 30lbs, so assuming yours is stock that's what it should weigh.

Might have been interested if I was anywhere near you, but I'm not.

I don't think people realise how good these amps are. My revelation came when I sold my middle of the road amps,
a few pedals and bought one of these beauties...

True.  I'm swithering about a new amp, researching the options etc.  While part of me is saying hold off until I start gigging (hopefully soon) and give some of the amps I've already got a chance, the right amp at the right price could easily turn into an impulse buy.  Some of the amps on my short-list have turned up here recently but they have all been collection only and nowhere near where I live.

Can I be honest ? It's well worth travelling some distance to get a really good piece of equipment. I visit Coda and Peach, and they are often (in real terms) a 3.5 hour journey for me - hence 7 hour return.

BUT, for something that I love and give me so much pleasure, it's a no brainer.

I'd have a much longer round trip than that.  Plus I doubt I have anything like as intense an interest in the fine distinctions between various high-end amps. I'm really just looking for a replacement for my much-loved but now too heavy MusicMan 65.
