  • Just watched the vids seems very interesting and fancy having a go.
suggest you move this to guitar or acoustic section for more feedback.

The lad in the video uses it in an interesting way with the loops and all that. Loops aren't really my thing though, so I had a quick look at the Pickaso offical YT vid. It has promise.

I wouldn't say no to having a go, but in my head I would have to think very carefully about how to use it, in order to avoid Jimmy Page/ Hammer House of Horror/ walk through the graveyard at 3am style sonic antics.

Would really work say as something used in an arrangement for a specific track or as something used on a couple of songs in a set.

Does anyone use ebow with an acoustic? A comparison would be interesting.

I’ve used an E-bow on acoustic - it gets very loud to the point of distortion. Normally when you pick a string the sustain part of the envelope is at a much lower level than the attack, but the E-bow makes it much louder.

But it sounds nothing like the mechanically bowed sound in the video.

Editing a post always seems to convert direct video hyperlinks into thumbnail images that will not play.
    Be seeing you.

Catching up with the "shit I added to my reading list while on holiday" list... This seems a genuinely neat concept at a not-completely-batshit price.

But the amount of finger poo on the Taylor used at 0:15 in the company's own video gives me serious concerns...

Just saw this. Didn't even know it existed. It works far better than I was expecting.

Sounds great, but I am not convinced you just pick it up and play it with those sounds.

I would say that you need to clean your strings thoroughly after every use. The rosin builds up on the strings and deadens the response a bit.

  • Would love to hear how it sounds without the enormous dollops of reverb.

    Totally agree.

    What a racket!

What's wrong with guitars that sound like guitars?

You might disagree with that statement if you heard me throttling a wild animal,I mean playing a guitar.
