Melodija Menges archtop?

What's Hot
Anyone know anything about these? I spotted a guitar in an old sleeve outside the charity shop 2 doors down from mine and found this pretty little thing inside.

I'm guessing it's 50/60s. There's checking all over in the finish so i'm guessing it's nitrocellulose and looking at the wear on the fret board it's clearly been played a lot. The action is way high but I figured for £25 it'd make a good slide guitar.

Interesting mix of flat/round/rusty strings  ;)

    FTFY

But enjoy !  Zero fret might need replacing to sort the action out.
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

I admire your thrift & sustainable ethics, but I reckon even Seasick Steve wouldn't bother :-D
I reckon that with some tweaking it could sound pretty good, as the fretwear wouldn't be there on a really poor playing guitar (probably...).

“The Melodija factory still exists at Menges in Slovenia (former Czech Republic) founded 120 years ago, their luthiers made violins, guitars while the manufacturers made accordions.
Nowadays, only the manufacture of the latter remains, but they kept a guitar repair shop.”

Little correction,Menges Slovenia is in former Yugoslavia not Czech republic.I played quite few of Melidija guitars and they where poor sound and quality wise.
