    This looks like a good general wood site - whereas the site which is the subject of this thread focuses specifically on tonewoods and their qualities.

    There isn't any difference apart from the suitability for use. A tonewood specific website focuses on woods that are used in the construction of musical instruments and their tonal qualities and appearance whereas a general wood website deals with all types of woods which may or may not necessarily be suitable for use in musical instruments but may be very good for other stuff - although use of a particular wood as a tonewood could be mentioned.

    Both the sites mentioned in this thread are very good - but the first is particularly good for tonewoods.
