Anyone played one?

Have ordered one on a whim to reignite my crappy country blues playing.

Tried one at the Brum show earlier this year.
Was very impressed, almost took the plunge.

Tried on in Miller's in Cambridge, wasn't knocked out but that might have been the off putting sales assistant leering over me asking, "so how do you like it?" every single time I tried anything.

I don't know about the parlour guitar but I own an Art & Lutherie 12 string and it is a very well made guitar, however the action out of the box was too high. After sanding down the bridge saddle it's been perfect since. Good instruments for the dosh.

  • I had the Ami parlour from A&L. It was a nice wee thing. It sounded quite good too.
i eventually upgraded to a Faith Naked Mercury which is to my mind, the best sub £500 parlour.

Tried Faith Naked Mercury twice, once in Millers - meh - and another in Guitar Sound - wow.

Really like the look of A&L but I can't imagine they are quite the guitar FNM is.

Finally arrived. Red one as the others were backordered. Looks tons better in the flesh that in pics.

It's very cute, with a nice strident and balanced but maybe not particularly subtle tone. Blues and picking sounds great. My Open G slide playing is abysmal but it seems to have potential there too. Not a ton of bass but a lovely articulation.

Great neck for my average sized hands.

    Now to break it in.
