Acoustic guitar amp settings

What's Hot
Hi folks

just wondered if anyone can give any suggestions for amp settings for an acoustic guitar. I’ve got a Taylor Academy 12e acoustic and a blackstar HT5R amp. I like playing stuff such as the Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival etc and still very much a “strummer”. Any help much appreciated

Cheers Mike

Place to start is EQ flat on both guitar and amp, volume on the guitar at 8 not 10, then adjust the mid first on the amp to find some sort of sweet spot then bass and treble in that order. Usually you will find cutting the mids and slightly increasing the treble give best results. I would add your starting with the wrong amp though and an acoustic amp would be a lot easior to get goood results quicker.

  • Thanks for the advice - much appreciated. Yes I really use the amp with a Strat and they seem to work together really well but was curious what sound I could get with the acoustic
