    Are these giggable? i.e. what's it like alongside hard hitting drummer and bassist in a heavy rock band? Would it be clean/crunchy and take an overdrive pedal nicely?

    They are effing loud. It doesn't do clean so if you need it for funk or pop then it is not for you. Through a decent 2x12 it is easily loud enough without mic'ing up. Takes drive pedals very well. Especially lower gain ones.

    It sounds very good through an Orange 4 * 12 cab.  But I expect that most amps would anyway.  But change the pre-amp valve for something [almost any valve you can get will improve on the stock valve] a little less tizzy.  The Micro Terror is a good backup amp IMHO.

    Oh I forgot to mention I have changed the 12ax7, I tried a load of different ones and I think it was an old pinnacle or possibly a JJ that sounded best, I will check tonight.
