1977 Marshall JMP 2104 50W master volume 2x12 combo - Great example, now £SOLD
What's Hot
Looking for £550. Collection from London SW18, just down the road from Southfields tube station, strongly preferred, but I'm willing to consider couriering at the buyer's risk and expense. A 2204 chassis in a cabinet with two original Marshall branded Celestion Blackbacks. Produces the classic Marshall sounds in everyone's heads, but can also do more modern tones with a boost pedal in front of it. It has the cascading gain preamp that was introduced at some point in 1977.
Here are a few links to some recordings I made with the combo. They have been captured using just an SM57, and no post processing other than a bit of reverb!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jg0bl_vXtXQI've copied the text from the advert that convinced me to buy it back in 2013 instead of other examples, and it hasn't left my house since then, so it's in great condition, although some of the lettering on the front panel is worn.
"Cosmetically this particular amp is quite interesting as it was factory fitted with Elephant grain Tolex but the old style check grille cloth making it something of a transition model.
I believe '77 was the year The Elephant grain Tolex replaced the smooth black and also the year the Check grille was replaced by the now standard black (I'm sure any Marshall buffs out there will correct me if I'm wrong ;-).
When the amp was restored these features were maintained as was the silver rather than Gold handle. After it was recovered the corners and top vent were fitted using the original old rivets just for the look.
Electronically it has also been completely worked through, including pots, switches, new output valves, bias checked, all sockets cleaned, any drifting caps and resistors replaced and a new mains switch fitted.
The speakers and both the transformers are original. The result is a great sounding, great looking reliable amp ready for another 36 years of rock 'n' roll!"
