WTB (feeler) : Small valve amp (deliverable to Cambridge) - Laney VC-15? Blackstar HT1 / 5 ?

Would possibly like to have a play with one of those little "for the bedroom" valve amps.

Knowing my record it's likely to be something I'll have a go with for a month or two and then want to move on at some point - so would ideally come with original box and / or suitable packing to send it on to its next stop.

Looking for something in good condition and not needing imminent re-valving - but something where I can easily get/replace the valves/mess with it if I do get well into it and start thrashing it regularly.

Soundwise, should be able to do 'edge of breakup' at a non-antisocial volume, and 'take pedals' well (if that makes sense?)

A bit of a feeler so feel free to just shoot me a link to an existing thread and don't kill me if I don't take anyone up on anything!

    @photek sounds interesting. Question - can the speaker emulated output be used at the same time as the main speaker output?

    I think it mutes the speaker output as it is the headphone socket as well chap.

    Aha - if it didn't mute that would open up exciting possibilities for me of using it as a send for ambient effects. OTOH if it has a headphone out that opens up exciting possibilities for the wife of not being able to hear it at all.

    @CloudNine I probably was thinking of the more unglamorous price bracket - something that would go for £200-£350 new.

    I could stretch to £300 s/h plus delivery for something very cool and a good deal but as I'm only dipping my toe in the water I would rather stay nearer the cheapskate end.

    I'm still intrigued what you have, even if it is too rich for my blood!
