WTB - low watt valve head

What's Hot

Following on from my thread in the 'Amps' section, thought I'd see what is available ou there at the moment.

Something I can take out and gig (will be mic'd), budget ideally around £500 and, if possible, close to me so I can try it out - I'm based in Kent.

Thanks

Serendipity possibly but a combo not a head.

My Cornford Harlequin is, frankly, superfluous to my needs if not requirements.  I bought it about two months ago on here and love it but it is not getting used.  Its a bit loud and too tempting which is getting me into hot water from time to time.

Its in great condition, with a fancy cover, and has been totally reliable for me and the previous owner - thewiddler - assured me that it had been for him too.   I bought it for £350.00 and would be very happy to let it go for that.  I reckon I have added about no more than twelve hours to it.

I'm in Bromley. pm me if you are interested.

I have a H&K Tubemeister 36. does 1.5.18.36 watts. Small, lights up and three channels. Probably sub 400 quid mark, but not thought much about it. Comes in a wee padded bag.

There's one of those JCM 800 1w 50th anniv heads in a shop local to me in Haywards Heath.  Seems to be a good price (£250 IIRC). I'm sure  it would be loud enough if you were mic'd.  Depends what you're after tone wise as others have said,.

Cheers all, I've got the Fender bases all covered so it's more of a Marshall sound I'm after. That EVA or the Cornford certainly seem a step in the right direction!

I have a Ceriatone based JTM 18. A 18 watt version of a jtm45 fixed bias running 6V6 valves, it's got a PPIMV fitted and in a replica marshall small head box. Ingo Gorges Transformers, a one off custom built amp that sounds amazing. £400

Marshall SL5? If you're mic'ing then you can crank at 1 or 5 watts to get the valves cooking. Sounds fantastic, portable and easily within budget. I'm in Surrey so easy for you to try out :-)
