SOLD - 1974 Dual Showman Reverb head

This is in amazing condition for a 40 year old amp. It has just been serviced by Mike Devine of Amploft in Bristol and it appears to be mostly orignal apart from the work Mike has just done (replaced reverb transformer, vibrato valve and some resistors that had 'drifted' beyond 10% tolerance). The fact that the valves are original and still sounding ace suggests an amp that hasn't had a hard life!!


It sounds amazing, the reverb and vibrato are immense and it is loud!

I have been advised that it is worth £600-700 so I am starting at £650 dropping to £595. 

I think it may be risky to courier so collection in Bristol is preferred, although I am happy to package well if someone wants to go for insured delivery.

    Not sure if this is any use.. I bought one of these from eBay a few years ago, for £300.. It's a 1972 and in worse condition than yours. Mine was totally original, still had various RCA and Mullard valves, and leaky caps etc Spent about £200 on re-valve and service. I think your price is fine

    Great amps, i love mine, even if it is crazy loud!

    I'd love to buy it but alas it's too much power for me.

    I bought one exactly like this when I was about 18 about 30 "cough" years ago.

    I linked it to 2 x 2x12 cabinets and it never left my bedroom!!! 

    I turned it right up once when me mam and dad were out and the neighbours were on holiday - plugged in my International series Maui Blue Telecaster and hit a chord!!! It nearly blew the windows out. 
    It was like that scene from Back to the future!

    Sounded fantastic though.
