I was lucky enough to snap up @WezV 's hollow Les Paul build last week. He documented the construction of this guitar in this thread: https://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/178408/fully-hollow-and-carved-les-paul/p1

I gigged the guitar for the first time this afternoon (a "light" line-up of me plus a bass player and singer) and, my oh my, am I pleased with it! It plays just beautifully - the fingerboard feels like home for my hands, and the body size is perfect too. It sounds like the best jazz archtop, but is Les Paul sized and very comfortably light.  And the sound, with the P90-ish Mojo pickup, is just sublime. So resonant and nicely balanced and every nuance comes though. And yet at the same time it's somehow forgiving - it seemed at the gig like I couldn't hit a clam even if I tried (and I can't help trying - ha ha). To cap it all, it looks fantastic - even nicer in the flesh than in photos.

Kudos to Wez! I'll be looking out for his stuff in the future and can see more of his builds in my life.

Congratulations and HNGD, it’s one I have long lusted after. From your description it sounds like it is even better in the ‘flesh’; hope you have many happy gigs together ahead.

Thanks @smigeon I'm glad it's working well for you.  It's certainly one of my favorite ideas i have built.

    It certainly looks cool
I could imagine Gary Clarke Junior playing one
i love that blend between jazz n blues n swing n jump jive etc with a strong 50s flavour and that guitar should suit it very well

He plays wide sky guitars.  They do have some similarity to this build, but are closer to normal thinline electrics as far as I can tell.  I didn't discover them till I was making this, but am a big fan of what they do.

Yeah, I've never played a Wide Sky - Just seen Gary with one and a advert or two on some American forum, or magazine - Similar visuals as you say
