SOLD: Boss SY-200 - price drop £180
Looking to sell my Boss SY-200, in excellent condition with original box and contents. I bought it new last September and it has only been used at one gig and a couple of rehearsals since then so it's in almost new condition. It's very good at what it does but the reason for selling is that I don't need it any more. Looking for £220 £195 £180 (PPG) posted.
I've also got a midi lead I bought to go with it that I can throw in with the sale.
This pedal fills the gap in the range between the SY-1 and the SY-300. It has the ability to save 128 presets based around 171 sounds across 12 different categories, which makes it more versatile and gig-friendly than the SY-1. On the other hand there are only 3 adjustable parameters in each sound meaning that it is less complex to use than the SY-300. I believe the sounds are based on a kind of greatest hits list from the SY-300 and there's plenty of range and variety in the sounds on offer. There is also the ability to use an expression pedal or external switches and/or midi to add to the functionality.
All in all there's a lot of functionality and some great sounds packed into a compact package that you can use without detailed knowledge of synth programming.
I used it in one of the FX loops of my Helix at a gig where we didn't have keyboard available (I normally double up on guitar and keys but couldn't because our other guitarist wasn't there). It did a great job and sounded really good blended in with the guitar tones.
