Looking for miscellaneous knackered, cheap, or broken pots/wires/pickups/electronics

Looking for any kind of guitar electrickery, can be old/knackered/broken/rubbish or anything.

I’ve decided I’d like to learn to solder.

I figured the best way to learn would be to find some bits to practice on, but all my guitar related electronics are…well…in guitars.

So if anybody has a drawer full of stuff you’ve been meaning to probably clear out, anything would help.

Not after anything decent or pricey for obvious reasons, but anything else please shoot me a message.

Also welcoming soldering iron recommendations too!

As little as possible really, I guess the more broken/knackered the bits then the less I was expecting to pay.

It’s highly unlikely any of these bits will ever be properly connected up, and I suspect there’s a reasonable chance I’ll burn some of them out whilst I’m learning.

But I figure I’ve got to start somewhere, so thought a message like this might prompt a few folks to check their junk drawers and might be cheaper than ordering a load of the cheapest bits I can find on eBay, Amazon, and Thomann

You don’t need much. Main thing with ordering for me is getting good and cleaning up existing solder jobs.

So my only advice is to learn that too

For some people, having a target, a project, can provide helpful motivation. Perhaps something among the 9 Best Soldering Project Kits for Beginners will give you something where your success means you end up with a working item, whether that be a simple radio, a plam-sized game console, a light-up Christmas tree or whatever takes your fancy, @Evo .
