As your second photograph confirms, what you have is Schaller BM bass tuners.

They are a direct retrofit for Musicman and some Rickenbacker. (The shafts are too short for most Fender/Squier basses.) It is a quick screwdriver job to reverse the handing from 4-in-line to 3+1 or  2x2.
    Be seeing you.

...however, do they fit any Rics?

I did offer a Schaller BM up to my mid-Seventies 4001* but it has push-in bushings on the front of the headstock rather than threaded hex nuts. I was loth to ream the holes. Also, I am accustomed to the reverse gearing of the originals.

Your question reminds me that Schaller BM 'heads fit EBMM bass guitars but not the Sterling-by-Musicman versions.

    * This would have been during the most recent string change. A distant memory! My only clear recollection is from that time is fending off pterodactyls

I think the posts are wider on these than Rics.
